One Skein Tunisian Wonder

$5.00

This shawl pattern introduces beginner makers to a simple Tunisian crochet 2 stitch lace pattern with a two row repeat. The example uses only one skein of 4 ply/fingering weight yarn so it’s perfect when you have that one beautiful skein without a specific project in mind. Because this pattern is based on percentage of yarn usage, it can be made using a heavier yarn weight and/or more yarn to create a larger shawl or wrap.

Originally published in Homespun Crochet: Beginners and Beyond magazine.

Supplies

5.5mm or 6mm Tunisian crochet hook.

A larger diameter and longer hook (or cable) is required if using thicker yarn.

Removable stitch markers

Kitchen scale

Darning needle

Pom-pom or tassel maker (optional)

Yarn

1 x 100g skein of 4 ply (fingering weight) yarn. Sample used Wren & Ollie Sock Yarn,

85% superwash merino/15% nylon - 100g, 400m/437y in colourway ‘Enchanted’.

Use any single skein of fingering weight yarn to make this lovely pattern.
